Suffolk staff go the whole hog to support Macmillan Cancer Support

Thirteen site staff tackled the Hog Run – a five-mile muddy obstacle race – to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event, held at Wantisden in October, included lots of very cold, and sometimes deep water, mud aplenty, and various obstacles, which had to be climbed over, under or through.

The team, which included the plant manager as well as operational and administration staff, completed the event in just under two hours and raised over £1,000 for Macmillan.

Earlier in the year the Suffolk site had taken part in the Rio Roadshow – a company-wide fund-raising event in which staff across the country were challenged to run, ride and row the 5,760 miles between London and Rio, in the run-up to the Olympic Games.

Cake sales and a fantasy rugby competition have also been held on site, to bring the fund-raising total in Suffolk to £2,000 for the year.
